May 29, 1941
Animators working for Walt Disney began what was to become a successful five-week strike for recognition of their union, the Screen Cartoonists’ Guild. The animated feature Dumbo was being created at the time and, according to Wikipedia, a number of strikers are caricatured in the feature as clowns who go to “hit the big boss for a raise”.

Members Ratify a New 4-Yr. Pepsi Contract

A new contract was approved January 7, 2012 by Pepsi field service techs, jockeys and warehouse employees.

The new 4-year agreement provides wage increases, an increase in night differential and pension benefit.Significant language changes were achieved, including improvements in seniority language.
